As the demand for healthcare services continues to increase, so does the demand for qualified phlebotomists. These allied health professionals play a vital role in the medical field by drawing blood from patients for laboratory tests and transfusions. Blood specimens are important in patient care, as they help doctors diagnose and treat patients’ medical conditions. Depending on their place of employment, they may also collect donations from blood donors.

At Jolie Academy, our phlebotomy program will prepare you for a career in this high-growth field through a comprehensive training program that provides a working knowledge of blood collection, patient safety, and quality assurance. You’ll learn through a combination of classroom and hands-on coursework, which will include the completion of successful venipunctures and capillary sticks prior to graduation.

Throughout the program, you can expect to learn about:

  • Venipuncture
  • Micro collection techniques
  • First aid and CPR
  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Medical terminology
  • Common complications
  • Blood collection
  • Infection prevention
  • Clinical laboratory procedures

From verifying a patient’s identification to labeling drawn samples, our phlebotomy schools will provide you with the knowledge and technical skill you’ll need to pass the licensing exam and begin your career after graduation. The CPT certification is recognized all over the country (except California), and shows prospective employers that you have proven skills.
